How to Prepare For and Successfully Interview!

Do Your Homework:

Do you understnad what position you are applying for?
Do you understand all information on your application and resume?
Did you fill out the application completely?
Be prepared to discuss your previous employment!
Bullet points on your resume (do not write a book, no one will read it)
Background checks are becoming standard practice.

Note: use the hobby or special interest area on your application as an advantage point; if you are lucky you will have things in common with your interviewer.

The interview:

Be early to prepare
Proper attire.
Be out going. You onlyi get one chance!
Understand information you have provided.
Turn off your pagers and cell phones
Highlight extras that you bring to the table!
Checkout your interviewers surrounding you may have something in common!
If you have a great work history, make sure you discuss your dedication to past company's.
The more restrictions you have as fare as days off and ohours could become a negative.
Look at the size of a company and the likelllihood of positions opening at a later date.
Make sure you have copies of all recommendations, special certificates, accomodations, community volunteering, safety awards, etc.
As you leave, make sure the employer has the imipression"what you can do for the company out weighs what the company can do for you."
Always remember that a good interview could get your application to nuimerous departments within the same company.
