Individual Unit Final Projects!

November for first semester and May for second semester classes

The 7th grade elective computer class has a unique, exciting curriculum with a myriad of user applications (keyboarding, word processing, database, spreadsheets, Internet search engines, PowerPoint, Publisher, Painting and Drawing, Computer Music and Klik & Play computer games construction). But in addition, each unit of instruction has a worthy final project which exhibits how well the students have mastered the unit's contents. Below is an outline of the individual unit final projects for your perusal.

Final Projects!

  • Keyboarding: Video taping of individual students with emphasis on home row typing position and eyes not on the fingers!


  • Word Processing: Two page pen pal letter to Korean students in Seoul, Korea with double spacing, CSAP quality with emphasis on topic sentences, grammar, spelling, and sentence syntax. Letters are mailed to Seoul, Korea.


  • Database: Student create an original database from scratch with 25 records with a minimum of eight fields along with a 15 question worksheet. Students will do another student's worksheet and database.


  • Spreadsheet: Students will create two spreadsheets with a minimum of the following formulas: 10 cells added, 2 cells subtracted, 2 cells divided, 10 cells multiplied, 10 cells averaged and option square root formulas.


  • Internet Search Engines: Students will create a multimedia project in which they will insert five photographs and appropriate text into a word processing document. Internet insert options include videos, photographs, audio, and text.


  • PowerPoint: Students will create a project with a minimum of 9 slides with at least one piece of artwork on each slide. Content insert options include photographs, art, audio and video clips.


  • Publisher: Students will create an openng web page with three "hot" links with at least one photograph on each web page.


  • Painting and Drawing: Students will create a picture in either painting and/or drawing mode with at least five different geometric designs, five different colors, and three different modes of drawing/painting.


  • Klik & Play Game Construction: Students will construct an original computer game with a minimum of three levels of linked gaming with animation emphasis.
