1999 Professional Appearances for John Kuzmich, Jr.

A computer music workshop was given at the international convention for the International Association of Jazz Educators at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California on January 10, 1999. On February 22, 1999, John gave a jazz improvisation pedagogy workshop at the University of North Texas for the jazz education curriculum committee with a participating 8th grade concert band. At the 1999 Brigham Young University Jazz Festival on March 6, 1999, seven hours of computer music and music Internet workshops were given. On March 12, 1999, a computer music applications workshop was presented for the music business majors at California State University at Northridge. A special meeting with my co-author, Robert Waggoner of St. Louis will take place in June, 1999 for the writing of a fourth jazz pedagogy book for Warner Bros. On April 9, 16 and 30, 1999, 12+ hours of videoconferencing instruction will be given for the Jefferson County School teachers at Carmody Middle School in Lakewood, Colorado. In addition to John's "Watch Out" and "Survey of New Teaching Materials" columns in the Jazz Educators Journal that he writes, he now has a technology column in the School Band & Orchestra journal which means that he writes about 18 articles a year for these three columns! On June 23, 1999, John presented a computer music workshop at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana and on July 13, 1999 at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. On December 16, 1999 at the prestigious Mid-West Band & Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, John presented a computer music workshop entitled: "Computer Music Applications: A to Z" to an standing run only audience of 300+ educators. Year 2000 Professional Appearances for John Kuzmich, Jr.

Computer music workshops with Dave Mejia will be given at Red Rocks Community College in Lakewood, Colorado on February 19, 20 and 26 and 27, 2000 and June 12-16, 2000 as well as November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19, 2000. In addition, Dave and John are doing computer music web development workshops on July 14, 15 and 16 and October 27, 28, and 29, 2000. Beginning with the fall workshops, All Denver-area computer music workshops are going to be staged at a new permanent workshop location in Denver, Colorado. All-day clinic at the 2000 Brigham Young University Jazz Festival on March 4, 2000 in Provo, Utah featuring computer music applications. More upcoming year 2000 appearances will be posted in the near future including the possible signing of a contact with Kendor Music to co-author a fourth jazz pedagogy text with co-authors Bob Waggoner of St. Louis and Ron Carter of Northern Illinois University.



Year 2001 Professional Appearances for John Kuzmich, Jr.

A computer music workshop will be presented at the IAJE International Jazz Conference in New York City the second weekend of January, 2001. Yamaha International will be supporting John as a clinician by providing keyboards for upcoming computer music workshops. Reva Kuzmich (daughter) will be participating demonstrating MIDI applications with a Zeta MIDI violin. Reva and I will team up again for four workshop presentations at the 2001 Winter NAMM Conference in Anaheim, California on Saturday and Sunday, January 20 and 21, 2001. The four one-hour presentations will be entitled: "Electrify Your Sales Through Technology." Two of the presentations will be devoted to contemporary electrified strings and two on HTML Web Development.

At the Texas Music Educators Conference in San Antonio, Texas, Reva Kuzmich and John will do a clinic entitled: Modern Electrified Strings In The Public Schools" featuring analog special effects processing and MIDI Zeta string applications.

At the 2001 Brigham Young University Jazz Festival, John will be presenting eight hours of clinics featuring the latest computer music software applications dealing with jazz instruction, including transcribing and posting student solos on the BYU School of Music web page.

At the 2001 Music Educators National Conference's Eastern Regional Convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on March 3, 2001, Reva and John will do the Modern Electrified Strings In The Public Schools" and a computer music workshop entitled: "Computer Music Applications From A to Z."

At the 2001 University of North Texas Computer Music Technology Workshop in Denton, Texas on May 31 and June 1, 2001, John will present two all-day full-day workshops entitled: "The Magic of Band-In-A-Box" and "Music Educator Web Development for Beginners."
