Outline for Doing Your Very First Web Site!

  1. Write down a goal for your web site. It can be on any subject.

  2. Determine the content and name for each page of your site.

  3. Create a chart to diagram your chart (a site map).

  4. Create a folder called resources inside your _____ folder. You will save all files for your site in this folder.

  5. Create a folder called resources iside your ______ folder (you will keep all of your graphics in this folder)
  6. Create or find any graphics and most of the text you will be using in the site.
  7. Copy all graphics files to your resources folder. Write down any eternal links you want to include.
  8. Open Dreamweaver and create each page.
  9. Create a main menu page with an index of all the site's pages. Call the page index.html.
  10. Fill in the texdt for each page.
  11. Format the text.
  12. Format the backgroun of the pages.
  13. Add horizonatl rules as needed.
  14. Insert graphics onto pages.
  15. Add external web links, perhaps as a links page.
  16. Create tables, if desired.
  17. Create internal links between pages. A user should be able tol get to any page easily. Egeryh page should have a link to the index page.
  18. Create anchors on anyh long scrolling pages.
  19. Add HTML, if needced or desired.
  20. View and test your site in Netscape Navigator and/or Microsoft internet Explorer.
  21. Upload your site to a server, if possible.
