Videoconferencing Requirements:

  1. You need Broadband Internet coverage. (DSL or cable)
  2. Pentium 4 computer or equivalent with headphones or speakers with external microphone
  3. I can handle up to 15 multipoint workstations anywhere in the world with synchronous communication.
  4. A watts line will be needed for the videoconferenciing and approximate rate is about 6 cents a minute. Approximately 20 to 25 hours of watts time fees will be assessed when enrolling in the workshop and I will purchase the watts line for synchronous communications.   The advantage of the watts line is that bandwidth is not a question at all.  I have equipment and softare that all the instruction will be synchronis with both audio and video and I can also simultaneously record both for future use and playback.  And best yet, I can accommodate up to 15 multipoint workstatiions any where in the world
  5. You do not need a web cam for the videoconferencing because all screen displays will be from the software applications and all software application audio be synchronized wth the software application and the telephone watts line handles all voice commlunications simultaneously. But webcam viewing is avalable with the latest version of GoToMeeting that will be used.

Videoconferencing Details and Fees:

  1. Special sliding honorarium fees at: Discount Sliding Scale Fees
  2. You have no less than three choices for asynchronous conference calling by: For 2011 workshop offerings, contact John
    • Voice-Oer-IP over the Internet with no long-distance charges. It works well. suggest using a USB headset with microphone. Radio Shack and Best Buy sell them from about $10.00 to $50.00. They are light and have microphones that don't pick up your speakers if you prefer speakers over head-set listening. GoToMeeting software is used which is free to all enrollees. For details about it, go to: http://www.gotomeeting.com.
    • Or use your long distance telephone service (in some cases, it may be totally free) as GoToMeeting does provide provide a free conference call number that would be classified as a long-distance phone call but with no service charges.  For example, my home phone service offers unlimited long-distance phone calls to the 48 states for only $20.00 a month.  Perhaps you have a similar plan or a better one?
    • Or use Skpe's or Vonage's free voice over IP phone service at: http://www.skype.com or http://www.vonage.com and then you can call the GoToMeeting area code 630 conference call line at no expense for the entire week!!
